Mobile Wallet

Background

Urban Airship acquired a mobile wallet management system that required a redesign and integration into its primary platform to provide the service to its existing customers from one UI. This system was widely used by companies for designing and distributing boarding passes, gift cards, event tickets and many more. The team consisted of a handful of engineers, a few product managers, and me as the design lead. I contributed to developing parts of the frontend.

Approach

The initial objective was to map how current marketing and development teams utilize the product. I collaborated with the product managers to conduct research and document our findings. Current campaign configuration for a customer was technically complex. Prototypes were created to explore ways to identify and minimize these challenges for customers.

I optimized designs after analyzing the code addressing feasibility concerns. I swiftly refined designs and collaborated with the engineers to build them.

Outcomes

Presenting the mobile wallet solutions within the main platform had significantly increased the customer awareness and inquires about the wallet system. Meanwhile existing wallet customers began to adopt additional services from Urban Airship into their workflows, especially distributing passes. At the same time, we have reduced campaign creation and launch time significantly. Customers have benefited from the consistent, default layout library, increased adoption. Redesigned solution allowed customers to configure passes without the need for development resources.
