Digital Asset Management System
Date Published

Background
Brand Managers and creative agencies use WeDAM to store their digital assets securely. The system provides an easy way to control who has access to which files. It was a complex, multipage application. The initial team consisted of 3 developers, myself included in the cross-functional role of designer-developer, another remote dev, and the CTO. Working closely with founders, I led the full redesign and delivery of the web UI. It took us nearly a year to complete this redesign.

Approach
I employed a collaborative approach to build the foundational understanding of the application and applied iterative approaches to design and develop. Existing code and the product were analyzed to create the information architectures. I met with technical leaders to incorporate feasibility and optimized solutions, met with product leaders to incorporate their feedback.
Given the uncertainties in the initial scope, I adopted a fast-phase approach when iterating details and collaborating with developers. As designs become complete, I worked through the code on implementing them with other engineers. We gathered feedback on beta and further refined user interactions.

Outcomes
The careful attention given to design foundations helped to fast-track the development process and ensured consistency in the future development of the application. I designed and helped to deliver a seamless single-page application, streamlining the user experience to fit the workflow of larger brands who work with multiple agencies. This resulted in increased ROI on brand operations and consistency in brand materials.
